Dansmuseet is a museum of dance and movement and it is a meeting place in the heart of Stockholm. Founded by Rolf de Maré in 1953, the museum has collections of costumes, masks and visual arts. Dansmuseet has a long fascinating history from the Hallwylska Palace on Hamngatan in Stockholm, to the Swedish Ballet's (Les Ballets Suédois) home stage at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, out into the world and back to Stockholm.
