Vägar till att stötta och stärka unga transpersoner
Pride Youth, Fri 4 Aug 11:00 AM–11:45 AM
What promotes wellbeing among trans youth? How can extended family and friends support? Transammans presents results from a survey for trans people in the ages 12-25 years.
During August-September 2022, Transammans conducted a digital survey aimed at trans people/persons unsure of their gender identity in the ages 12-25 years. The survey was answered by 279 people. During this lecture, the results of the survey on what promotes wellbeing among trans youth, and thoughts/experiences regarding support from extended families and friends are presented. The lecture also addresses which role models young people have - and which role models and stories are missing in everyday life as well as in the form of representation in popular culture, media stories and public figures. The survey is part of Transsamman's project Starka Tillsammans (Strong Together), with the aim of promoting the mental health of young trans people/people who are questioning their gender identity. The talk is aimed at anyone who wants to gain more knowledge about what is health-promoting for young trans people, which role models we need to highlight better and how relatives can be a good support. The talk is in Swedish.
