Neovagina and Pleasure: What trans healthcare leaves untold

A panel discussion intended exclusively for women and persons with neovaginas. Besides peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, it includes a trans-competent expert in sexual health who will try to meet the participants' questions related to pleasure, orgasm, and sexual stimulation of this divine body part. Except for the mentioned expert, the panel is led and includes only persons and women with neovaginas- preregistration is needed (see below).

Join us for a semi-separatist panel targeted to women and persons with neovagina in the presence of a trans-competent expert familiar with topics such as sexual health, practices, and orgasmic sensation among transgender women and persons with neovaginas. In this context, the word neovagina is used as a surgically crafted vagina, as of a transgender woman or person who has undergone gender-affirming surgery.

The panel seeks to address the lack of information regarding experiencing pleasure with our neovaginas and shift the narrative away from focusing on neovaginas’ visual, medical and functional aspects often unrelated to the experience of pleasure, erotic enjoyment, and orgasm. Lastly, the panel contains a peer-to-peer perspective where the community can share their knowledge and experiences on the ways of achieving/failing to achieve sexual climax.

Led by Cecilia Dhejne, MD, board-certified psychiatrist and sexual medicine specialist, founder of the Stockholm Gender Team, ANOVA (unit for andrology, sexual medicine, and trans medicine at Karolinska University Hospital).

In order to create a safe space, as well as a space of integrity for all participants, this panel requires preregistration and confirmation of one's participation from the side of the organizer. Preregistration is done by sending an email to panel@stockholm.rfsl.se with the subject NEOVAGINA: PANEL (deadline is the 31st of July) and a few sentences on why you would like to take part in this panel debate.
